Muscles involved in labour 生產時需要用到的肌肉

During labor,  it’s clear that your uterus and abdominal muscles contract to push the baby out. What most pregnant women do not realize, however, is that their Legs muscles do a lot of work as well. Your legs will help you assume positions to encourage your baby’s descent into the birth canal.

You will actually use your legs to assist you in pushing. Having strong muscles that are stretched and ready to go will be most beneficial. Squatting, which really requires practice and leg strength, opens your pelvic outlet by an additional 10 percent. This position facilitates the birth of your baby. It also helps prevent the need for episiotomy (外陰切開手術) and/ or tearing of the perineum(會陰).

Your legs  will play an important part in your labor and recovery. They will also help you recover more quickly once your baby is born.

The other group of muscles that most of us ignore and even don’t notice is Pelvic floor骨盆腔底.

The pelvic floor muscles are a group of muscles that wrap around the underside of the bladder and rectum.

By exercising the pelvic floor, the perineum(會陰) can stretch and lessens the chance of tearing or if tearing is happened, healing will be enhanced also it prevents from incontinence (失禁). It can also make the baby to pass through the pelvic more easily.
