Vocal toning 是歌手, 音樂治療師等, 用以配合某些冥想的一種練習。
近年Vocal toning的技巧愈來愈為音樂治療師所使用, 並應用於懷孕及分娩上。
聲帶, 橫膈膜和會陰部間有著一個生理的連接。Vocal toning 加強這個連繫以幫助女性分娩過程的集中並放鬆。Vocal toning 的做法是以緩慢的呼氣, 產生低沈而振動的聲音, 可以是慢慢呼出的嗡嗡聲或是響音。

當長的”O”響音打開喉嚨,這種開放反映到產道的狀況, 放鬆的喉嚨與會陰的連接也會使會陰放鬆並有助於打開子宮頸。做法:

深吸一口氣,然後呼氣,以低沈而輕聲的發出長“OHHHHHH…..”的聲音,再吸氣並繼續呼氣發出聲音

Vocal toning is a practice that is used by singers, musical therapists, and with certain types of meditation. Vocal toning for childbirth has increased as the techniques used by musical therapists have been applied to pregnancy and labor.

There is a physiologic connection between the vocal cords, the respiratory diaphragm, and the perineum. Vocal toning enhances that relationship and help women achieve focus and relaxation during labor.

Vocal toning is the practice of making a low, vibratory sound as breath is slowly released. It can be either a humming sound or a vowel sound that is slowly exhaled.

The long “o” vowel sound opens the throat, and there is a correlation between a relaxed throat and a relaxed perineum. When the throat is open, this opening reflects into the throat of the birth canal.

Practice:

take a deep breath in, then exhale, start with the long “ohhhhhh” sound and continue the inhale and exhalation with this practice
